Inspired :)

Soooo today I saw a quote that I practically live by, but for some reason today, it has re-inspired me.
Anywho, I figured I would share. :)

I have a lot of projects going on at the moment. A lot of them I was missing the stuff to finish them, so Friday I went to fashion district in LA and was able to get most of what I needed. Now I just have to do the handy work and I'll be on a roll! Last week i was also able to get my hands on some wood from a desk that someone broke apart and left on the side of the road! Now I have ALL KINDS of crazy ideas going thru my head with what to do with it! Here are some before pictures of it!

It's still in good condition.. just ripped apart.. and it has lots of nails. But who can say no to free wood? :)
I came up with an idea for it.. I'll show you pictures of my sketches. My friend suggested that I make a dog ramp so my little old yorky Kirby can come on my bed when he so pleases.. And that's just what I'm gonna do! Plus some! :)

Lamp Transformation

Hey everyone!
Sorry I've been gone for a while.. I went out of town to visit my best friend and my mama! I've also been working a lot on getting organized and finishing unfinished projects.. Woo hoo! Anyway I have a whole line up of blogs to write in the next couple of days.. starting with this one about the lamp that I just 'transformed'. I really like making cool stuff out of old junk! And making clothes :)

So this is a lamp base I picked up at the GoodWill store for $5. The electrical part was broke of course so I had to replace that. So step one was to take the thing apart to start from scratch.. I even took off the paint. Then i painted the base a solid black...

Then I glued on some loose pink tinted rainbow glitter (literally sprinkled it on by hand, my cat had a ball trying to make a mess of it! lol) and then I sprayed it with some clear seal spray.

Ta da! :) Then next I hooked up the new electrical parts..

Then next came the lamp shade.. When I bought it, it was plain white. I knew when I bought it that I wanted to make a cool pink and black glitter zebra lamp so i started by painting the body of the shade a bright pink color, Then I hand drew all of the stripes and painted them in black..

Then I painted the top and bottom edges black and applied glitter and seal spray to them too!
And here is the final product all lit up!!

I'm going to put it up on Etsy sometime within the next couple of days for $45. If you want it let me know and i'll save it for you!

Well now I'm on to my many other projects. I scored some free wood from a desk that someone tore down and left on the side of the road. My best friend gave me the idea to make a bed ramp for my little old doggy Kirby so he can get onto the bed.. So I been cooking up some cool ideas with that! And I had this cool idea for making a line of crazy costumes and calling it "Imagination" by A.K.L.but more details to come on that later! Anyways, I got work to do!
