Randomness!!

So recently I have been in this wierd cleaning/organizing/finishing unfinished projects that i have started. It's quite a mess and has kept me pretty busy these last few days. I started working on two dresses that I had already cut the fabric for and I started redoing a vintage lamp! I'm also working on two blankets.. one I'm crocheting and the other I'm knitting! But I have to buy more yarn before I can continue with those.
Today was awesome tho because my goal for the day was to find a lamp base that I can redo so I had Ricky take me to the Goodwill store! Lucky me I found a base that was close to what I was envisioning! I also picked up some cute little cards and another craft thing for $1 each! :D

Tomorrow my goal is to finish the lamp! <3

First Painting!

Sooooo.. I spent ALL day yesterday doing my first canvas painting! What better to do on a rainy day then paint right?? :) It came out okay and I was impressed with myself so I thought I would share! So here is the original photo that I was trying to mimick...

I took this picture in Arizona about a year ago. It was my first time in Arizona and the 2 things I really wanted to see while I was there was live cacti and the Lisa Frank head quarters.. Lucky me, I got to see both!! <3 My fiance's Grandpa took us out to the cactus jackpot, where I took the picture and since then I've been saying I wanted to try and paint a copy of it for him because he loves his Arizona flowers! I finally got around to it!

Anyway... here is the painting I made of the picture!

And here is the final product with the painted frame! Drum roll please...

TA DA! The pricks on the cactus are my favorite part! :) Well hope Grandpa likes it! I think its kinda funny that it came out kinda Lisa Frank looking with the bright colors! LOL! Now that I broke the painting ice I have a bunch of stuff I want to paint!

Now I'm off to go do some knitting!

Welcome to my Imagination

Hey everyone! Welcome to my crafting blog! This is me in the daisy summer dress I made last summer!

For one of my New Year's resolutions for the year I wanted to "kick start" my crafting and sewing business, so I thought that starting a blog is a good way to help with that. What I really like about crafters who do have blogs, is that it allows you get to know the person instead of just buying stuff from them. True crafting takes lots of imagination and sometimes knowing the back stories can open up a whole new view on things.

So here is just a little bit about me:

My name is Ashley. I'm engaged and on August 26, we are expecting our first little one! But it's too soon to tell if it's a boy or a girl yet. I love bright things that glitter, sparkle, shine or just stand out! Lisa Frank and Walt Disney inspire my creativity. I love animal prints, ANYTHING pink , flowers of every kind, rainbows, the ocean, and so much more! I can often be found turning old junk into new cute stuff! Here's an example!
